Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi dies in helicopter crash, Israeli Army bombed Gaza and more news
The helicopter of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed on Sunday. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, was also accompanying President Ebrahim Raisi. According to Iran’s state media, the helicopter of the Iranian President is still missing in the mountains. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over this incident.
The accident occurred near Julfa, located on the border of Azerbaijan. Iran’s Interior Minister said that President Ibrahim Raisi has not been contacted yet. He further said that we are still hopeful, but the information coming from the accident is quite worrying. On the other hand, due to bad weather, the rescue team is unable to reach the spot. Due to fog and cold in Iran, rescue operation through helicopter are very difficult. Let us tell you that Ibrahim Raisi had gone to inaugurate a dam with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev on the morning of 19 May.

There were three helicopters with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Two of these helicopters have landed safely at their destination. The area where President Ibrahim Raisi’s helicopter crashed is a forested area and there is fog. For this reason, the rescue team is facing a lot of trouble. Prayers were offered for President Ibrahim Raisi in all the religious places of Iran, but now it has come to light that none of the people in the helicopter, including President Raisi of Iran, have survived.

What will happen in Iran after the death of Ibrahim Raisi?
If the President of Iran dies suddenly,
- According to Article 131 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, if a President dies while in office, the Vice President has to take over as the supreme leader. He has the final authority in all matters involving the state.
- A council consisting of the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament and the head of the Judiciary will be formed, which will organize elections for the new President within a maximum period of 50 days.
- Ebrahim Raisi became the President of Iran in 2021 and according to the current rules, the next presidential election in Iran is going to be held in 2025, so preparations will be made to hold presidential elections in Iran within the next two months.

Nearly 8 lakh people have fled Rafah since the Israeli army launched a ground campaign in Rafah. More than 20 people have suffered serious injuries in the attack on the Nusirat refugee camp. Many children are also included among those who died.
