On the completion of this operation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Shoi encouraged the security forces. He said that two of our soldiers have died in this operation. At the same time, two soldiers have also been injured. The injured soldiers have been airlifted to the hospital.
The forest was cordoned off in a planned manner
According to the inputs received from the security forces, inputs about the Naxalites were received a week ago. It was told that the Naxalites were planning to carry out a major incident in Bijapur. On this information, the security forces made full preparations, and by forming different groups of more than 650 soldiers, the combing was started by surrounding the forest from all sides in the Indravati National Park area of Chhattisgarh, Bijapur district on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. This combing continued for 4 days, and during this time the Naxalites were surrounded without giving them a chance to escape.

31 Naxalites killed; two soldiers also martyred
The Naxalites were first asked to surrender, but when firing started from their side, the security forces retaliated and killed 31 Naxalites. According to the officials, two soldiers were martyred in this operation, while two soldiers were also injured due to bullet injuries. The injured soldiers were airlifted by a MI-17 helicopter from Jagdalpur. According to IG Sundar Raj of Bastar division, the number of Naxalites killed may increase further.

He said that earlier on 2 February 2025, 8 Naxalites were killed in an encounter in the Todaka forest of the Gangalur police station area of Chhattisgarh, Bijapur district, and on 21 January 2025, 14 Naxalites were killed in the Gariaband district. Similarly, on 16 January 2025, an operation was carried out in Pujari Kanker and Marudbaka of Usur block of Chhattisgarh, Bijapur district. 18 Naxalites were killed in it. According to the officials, the latest operation is the biggest operation of this year, and for the first time this year, soldiers were involved in the operation on such a large scale.
