After the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, not only the entire journalist community but the entire intellectual world is in shock. Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar finally lost at home while fighting the Naxalites. He was killed by a contractor only because he had published a report on the road built by the contractor. It is being said that the cost of this road was 50 crores. Which was retendered and made more than 100 crores. He prepared this report for a TV channel and after the report was shown, the contractor had to suffer huge losses.

After this, contractor Suresh Chandrakar, in connivance with the corrupt people in the government, carried out this crime. There is also a discussion among the journalists of Bastar and Bijapur that the wedding procession of the accused contractor’s daughter had also come by helicopter. It is said that this was also revealed by Mukesh Chandrakar. After this incident, the contractor was angry with Mukesh, and when the news of the re-tendering of the road spread, he decided to remove Mukesh from the path. It is also being said that there were family relations between the accused contractor, Suresh Chandrakar, and journalist Mukesh Chandrakar.

Family relations with the accused contractor

According to sources, the contractor had called Mukesh to his hideout, citing these relations. After this, Mukesh also trusted him and went to meet him at the farmhouse in half pants and a t-shirt, where this incident was carried out. According to Mukesh’s family, on the evening of January 1, Suresh called Mukesh and asked him to come to his farmhouse. After this, Mukesh left the house, but after a while, his phone was switched off. Mukesh’s brother Ukesh Chandrakar had also been informed about this in the complaint given to the police.

The last location was found in the farmhouse itself

He suspected that contractor Suresh had kidnapped Mukesh. When the police investigated the case, Mukesh’s last location was found at the accused’s farmhouse itself. After this, the police team reached the spot, got the under-construction septic tank excavated, and recovered Mukesh’s body from under the ground. The police have sent Mukesh’s body for a postmortem. After this incident, the accused contractor Suresh and his brother went underground. After this incident, anger erupted among the journalists of Chhattisgarh, including Bastar and Bijapur.

Rescued the soldiers from the Naxalites

Journalists have also symbolically blocked the roads in Bastar. They have also demanded the government and the police give the harshest punishment to the accused. Mukesh was doing journalism fearlessly against the Naxalites. Not only this, but many times when the security force personnel got caught in the clutches of the Naxalites, Mukesh used to get them released from the Naxalites. In such a situation, this is a big question for the government and system of Chhattisgarh: how did the fearless journalist who exposed corruption have to lose his life?
