Will Arvind Kejriwal be able to win this battle?
India’s neighboring country is China, whose great teacher of war and art, Sun Tzu, had said about 550 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, “In politics, pretense is everything, and deprivations stand on it.” But little did Sun Tzu know that approximately 2500 years later, this game would be at its peak in India, one of the oldest democracies in the world.
If you don’t believe, then see the ongoing maneuvers in the courts and political circus of New Delhi. Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials are trying to prove the liquor scam in court. Apart from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, they have arrested many other people who belong to the Aam Aadmi Party.

Of these, the bail granted to Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh has created new political waves. Sanjay Singh’s lawyer argued in the higher court that his client has been detained unnecessarily because the investigating agency has been investigating this case for two years and has not been able to find any “money trail” yet. Not only this, the witness, Dinesh Arora, on whose statement he was arrested, did not even take the name of Sanjay Singh in his first 9 statements.
Sanjay Singh’s allegation, false statement given against Kejriwal
Sanjay Singh’s lawyer raised the question: What were the reasons that the witness took the name of the MP in his 10th testimony? Taking cognizance of this argument, the top court sought its answer from the lawyer of the Enforcement Directorate. Instead of replying, the ED decided not to oppose the bail plea this time. Sanjay Singh is now out of jail and is alleging that continuous pressure was put on Andhra Pradesh’s ruling party, YSR Congress MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, to give a false statement against Arvind Kejriwal, and when he denied this, his son Raghava Reddy was arrested.
After several rounds of questioning, he changed his statement about Kejriwal. Sanjay Singh refrained from speaking about his case due to the compulsion of the order of the top court. It is clearly mentioned in the conditions of the bail he obtained with great effort that he will not comment on his case. That is why he expressed his views in the name of his Chief Minister, Kejriwal. This also ensures that the Aam Aadmi Party wants to take electoral advantage of the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal.
Kejriwal used to take sarcasm at others, today he is in trouble
Under this strategy, new posters are being released, in which Kejriwal is shown behind bars. This is not a new experiment in Indian politics because George Fernandes, imprisoned in the Baroda dynamite case, had also contested similar elections. India’s largest political party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, is also not sitting silent. It is being said from his side that it is wrong to be so happy about the bail because the investigation is still going on and the entire trial is still pending.
It is clear that through these verbal battles, the politicians are trying to get the desired result from the court of the common people. How can a common voter, caught up in the struggles of everyday life, reach a conclusion on these difficult issues? It is at this point that questions arise about the integrity of political principles and promises. Arvind Kejriwal once came up with strong words rejecting established leaders, political parties, industrialists, journalists, and thinkers.
Will Kejriwal’s wife become Chief Minister?
Kejriwal used to talk about alternative politics, but when he was not able to form a government with a majority for the first time, he sought the help of Congress. He is fighting this year’s Lok Sabha elections with the Congress, which still has Gandhism on its mind and for which the Gandhi family is everything. Sometimes he used to talk about putting him behind bars. Similarly, he used to accuse almost all the leaders along with him of corruption and demand their resignation. Today he himself is imprisoned in Tihar Jail on corruption charges, but he does not want to resign, and wants to run the government from jail itself.
Earlier this week, 56 out of 62 party MLAs gathered at Kejriwal’s residence and asked Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to convey our sentiment to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that he should not resign; we all will support him. Since then, questions have started to arise: if Arvind Kejriwal remains in jail for a long time and is forced to resign, will his wife Sunita Kejriwal take charge in his place? This possibility was not ruled out. This can be done because all the firebrand leaders of the party are targets of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). They can also send Raghav Chadha and Saurav Bhardwaj to jail.
