Election and Voting festival begins in world’s largest democracy

Voting has started on Friday in eight seats in Uttar Pradesh in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, and with this, the grandeur of elections has also started in our country, India, the world’s largest democracy. All necessary preparations for voting have been completed. In the first phase, voting is to be held on 21 state seats, including eight in UP and 102 parliamentary seats in Union Territories.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, Navdeep Ridwa, gave information about the preparations for voting last Thursday. He said that voting will start at 7:00 am and continue until 6:00 pm. In the first phase, maximum voters are in Moradabad and least in Nagina reserved seat. 80 candidates are in the fray for 8 seats. A maximum of 15 candidates are on the Kairana seat, and at least 5 candidates are on the Nagina reserved seat.

Voters will vote in pleasant weather

During the first phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh, voters will not be troubled by the scorching sun and heat. In the areas where voting is to be held, the weather will be good, with light rain and a cloudy and cool breeze. Atul Kumar Singh, scientist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, said that except for Pilibhit and Rampur, it will be cloudy in the Saharanpur, Shamli, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Moradabad areas on Friday. There are chances of light rain or a shower, along with thunder. Strong winds can also blow during this period.

In this phase, 8 general observers, 5 police observers, and 10 expenditure observers have been deployed to keep an eye on the voting. Apart from these, 1772 sector magistrates, 150 zonal magistrates, and 103 static magistrates have been deployed. Any complaint related to voting can be lodged at the toll-free number 18001801950.

Employees of factories working day and night will also get the opportunity to vote in the by-elections of Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies to be held in Uttar Pradesh. For this, they will get leave on the day of voting. In return, they will not be asked to work on the next weekly holiday. There is an order to provide suitable opportunities to all the employees working in factories running day and night and to declare the voting day a public holiday in other factories. In this regard, necessary guidelines have been issued by Principal Secretary Labor Anil Kumar to all district magistrates and district election officers.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said not to worry about sunlight for voting

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Jhanjhar village in Secunderabad area in Bulandshahr on Thursday afternoon in his first public meeting. While addressing in support of BJP candidate Dr. Mahesh Sharma from Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha seat, he tried to woo youth, farmers, women and businessmen. He said that there was an atmosphere of insecurity, terrorism and fear during the rule of Congress, SP and BSP.
