Pakistani army and terrorists clashed in the Balochistan province last year, and 23 terrorists along with 18 soldiers lost their lives as a result. A report from ISPR suggests that between Friday and today, 11 terrorists were eliminated in action in the Harnai district while the remaining got into initial skirmishes in the Kalat district.

During the preliminary actions of the first night between February 1st and January 31st, it was stated that the terrorists were attempting to block the road while using the general area of Mangochar in the Kalat district. We assert that this futile terrorist act was intended to further exacerbate the already tenuous security situation, at the behest of foreign adversary powers, by attempting to target unarmed civilians.

We assert that provisions were in place to promptly activate security troops and law enforcement agencies that responded accordingly and mitigated the terrorists’ attempts. A total of 12 terrorists were floored, while dual measures were opted for the civilian’s safety.

Over 18 troops died in the encounter

Nevertheless, as per the report released by the ISPR, injury figures from the conflict numbered 18, and the operation in question was still in progress. From the declaration, the governors are resolute that they will prevent any undertakings that seek to undermine the tranquillity, order, and advancement emanating from the provinces.

Later, the ISPR informed that the security forces had embarked on a province-wide search for terrorists following the dastardly act of terrorism that took place in the Kalat district.

It has been noted that a parallel operation was conducted in the Harnai district, and the “troops engaged the terrorists with excellent results, killing 11 of them and destroying numerous terrorist hideouts.

According to the ISPR, over the last 24 hours in Balochistan alone, 23 terrorists have been eliminated in a series of operations conducted in different areas. All provided information will be acted upon, and the operations will continue until all those responsible for this atrocious and cowardly act and their collaborators have been dealt with.

Zardari regrets the demise of soldiers

Zardari presented Ali in a statement issued on X and as well vehemently condemned the attack in Kalat district, stating that it is an attack that must be strongly condemned and expressing “deep regret and sorrow” for the unfortunate loss of personnel.

The “national” comment that infuriated General Rab Nawaz Hayat was seen in connection with the armed forces as supportive to him as having claimed that it was too soon after the just-concluded Operation Khyber 2 that Taliban factions would take these measures. The TV talk show commentary was made by Ashraf as directed towards television journalists rather than targets associated with representative groups in the legislative assembly.

“Let them do what they want to,” was the response from a senior Taliban member who spoke semi-anonymously from a protected conference room.

Moreover, during the last year or two, politicians and journalists have repeatedly stated couched in dismay that this means that there is no restriction on members of the armed forces and the political leadership. The consequence of these wishes is for the Pakistani army to conduct more operations in these provinces.
