Traveling from Ladakh to Delhi, why did Sonam Wangchuk walk 1000 km with a group of 100 people?

Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who came to Delhi from Leh, and more than 100 of his companions were kept by the Delhi Police on Monday night at the Singhu border. Legislative issues is moreover being done on this matter. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and previous Delhi Chief Serve Arvind Kejriwal assaulted the government strongly over the detainment of Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk and other activists had set out on a foot walk from Ladakh to Unused Delhi to encourage the Center to continue talks with the authority of Ladakh with respect to their demands.

One of the fundamental requests of Sonam Wangchuk is that Ladakh be included in the 6th Plan of the Structure, giving the nearby individuals the control to make laws to secure their arrival and social character. Wangchuk and almost 75 volunteers began their foot walk on September 1.

What does the 6th Plan of the Structure say?

The 6th Plan of the Structure gives uncommon security and independence to certain tribal ranges of India. It makes a difference to protect their culture and oversee their assets. After the annulment of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir was separated, and Ladakh was given the status of a partitioned Union Domain. Wangchuk is requesting that concrete steps be taken to ensure the environment of the Union Region and Ladakh be given the status of a state and brought beneath the 6th Plan of the Constitution.

Wangchuk has been dissenting in Ladakh

In back of his request, Sonam Wangchuk held a five-day ‘climate fast’ at the Himalayan Organized of Elective Ladakh (HIAL) campus in Leh from January 26-30. The challenge finished with an open rally at the Polo Ground in Leh on January 31. Hundreds of local people joined him. In his discourse, Wangchuk communicated despondency over the UT status and being ruled by the Lieutenant Governor.

He had at that point said, We thought it would be way better than being a portion of Jammu and Kashmir, since we would have an assembly and choices would be taken agreeing to the wishes of the individuals. But we have not seen anything like that happening. After surviving on water and salt, he fasted for 21 days in Leh in March.

On 1 September, Ramon Magsaysay Grant victor Wangchuk, along with more than 100 supporters, set out on a foot walk to Delhi in bolster of his requests. He says that his walk is to draw consideration to the destroying impacts of climate change in Ladakh and the Himalayan locale.
